Spaghetti westerns

I envy anyone attending the Venice film festival this year, with its retrospective of 32 spaghetti westerns, curated by Quentin Tarantino. The article on the BBC is unfortunately light on details, however; I'd be curious to know how obscure it gets.

Thanks for this.

There are a fair number there I'd love to see - here's hoping they'll get releases on Raro / Nocturno, as with the Di Leo stuff a few years back.

I have been invited to attend the Venice Film Festival, in particular the spaghetti western side bar. I will be blogging all about it from Venice at www.filmforno.com . By coincidence I was at a party up the coast 200 miles from L.A. and I met Leonard Mann, star of La Vendetta è un piatto che si serve freddo, which I believe is screening there.

A little more detail on the official site - http://www.labiennale.org/en/cinema/festival/program/en/14364.html

Looks very interesting...

Apparently Leonard Mann is now a teacher/lecturer out in California.
Did he discuss his Italian film career with you Joe?
Thanks.

Yes, we talked until his wife dragged him away, he agreed to be interviewed and I plan on doing it once I'm back from Venice, I will post it as a podcast. If you check my blog I wrote about meeting him. He's a very nice guy and the few stories he told me about his acting career are amazing. By the way I used a copy of the Napoli Spara lobby card from your site but I did credit you. I hope you don't mind.
