Schock poster

Or, look what arrived this morning: an original, unused, rather large poster for Bava's Schock.

Hi Keith,

Wow! That's really great.
And I think it is also one of the most beautiful italian posters out there. Such a simple and powerful image...

Yeah - I often browse the posters on Ebay and it just stood out from the rest. There was a real artistry to Italian film posters then that seems to sadly have been lost now.

I think the next one I want to get is The Bird with the Crystal Plumage. There's a reproduction of it available, but I want an original (or at least an original from a re-release).

But how can one regonize an original from a reproduction?

Not having seen and felt the original and the reproduction in this case I couldn't say for sure. Likewise, I don't know if the reproduction would have something on it indicating a recent year rather than 1970 or whatever.

I guess there's that element of trust - I got a couple of other posters of the same dealer last year, and his listings always seem to be fine, in that he'll indicate if a particular poster appears to be from a reissue of a film rather than the first release.

Hopefully someone who knows more about the subject can chime in...

The seller is fantomas38000:

The poster was about $80 / £40, with postage on top of that. It shipped courier, so it's probably cheaper if buying several posters in the one go.

Hope this helps
