Someone has been kind enough to make a torrent of Sergio Pastore's Crimes of the Black Cat, which is well worth a download even if you have the Dagored DVD of the film because they've endeavoured to clean up the video quality a bit.

There's also a English subtitle file for the film, although I found that there were problems with words running together and capital I's instead of l's, so I edited it. If you have the same problem, here's a link to the renamed file:

Thanx for the subs, but they doesn't seem to work on my Mac. VLC Player says "no suitable demux module"... Any chance you can fix them with a different codec?

anonymous, its an AVI file so it should work wth VLC. And with the proper codec install, it works with Quicktime!
Hey Keith, can I ask what is the best way to ensure the subtitles are present on playback?
I have a number of torrents which require subtitles and often I can't get my Laptop (using Div X player, WinDVD or Media Player) to recognise them. Instead I am left with the film in original italian.

I've found it a bit hit and miss myself - some programs seem to pick the subtitles up no problem, while others just don't. I think there are a lot of variables, including what codecs and helper type applications are on your system.
Not much help I know; hopefully someone else can advise better.
For me I found that .sub files dont always work but .str always do.
I know there are some freeware out there that can transform .sub to .str (just google it).
And if the film has subs, use VLC.
Problem solved! I downloaded an update of VLC an the subs appeared immediately. Again, thanx for the subs.
I've found the most recent version of Windows Media Player (11) to work without fail provided the subtitle file has exactly the same name as the movie file and resides in the same directory.
Just to add my two pence, I too have found Windows Media Player 11 to work consistently with subtitle tracks and Whiggles is correct to emphasise that both video and subtitle file names must match exactly.
In addition, I have also downloaded a handy piece of software called Vobsub (you can google it). This puts a little green arrow in the system tray when you click to a view a video file and if any subtitle file is present it accesses it and displays with no problems upon film playback. This might be handy if you use alternatives to the aforementioned Windows Media Player.
